Dynamo. The business engine.

Getting started

Getting started with Dynamo

Sign in, find your apps, search everything and set up your workspace the way you like it.

Sign in

Open your workspace address (for example yourcompany.dynamo.app) and sign in with your work e-mail. If your organization uses Microsoft or Google sign-in, use the button for your provider; your administrator decides which methods are allowed.

Business Home

After signing in you land on Business Home. It shows:

  • what needs you: approvals waiting for you and tasks assigned to you;
  • key figures for the apps you use (only figures you are allowed to see);
  • your apps, with favourites first;
  • the records and files you opened recently;
  • for administrators, the getting-started checklist until your workspace is set up.

Open an app

  • Use the sidebar on the left, or
  • open the application launcher (the grid button in the top bar). Type to filter, use the arrow keys and press Enter. Pin apps you use every day with the star; they appear first.

You only see the apps your organization has and that fit your role. If you expect an app that is missing, ask your administrator (see Why can't I see an app? in Troubleshooting).

Search and commands (Ctrl K)

Press Ctrl K (⌘ K on a Mac) anywhere, or click the search bar at the top. One box finds:

  • apps and pages ("receivables", "projects");
  • records you can open (customers, invoices, projects...) and files;
  • create actions ("new invoice", "create customer");
  • commands ("dark mode", "switch company", "preferences").

Use the arrow keys and Enter; Esc closes it.

Display modes

Dynamo shows the same data at two levels of detail:

ModeFor
SimpleEveryday work: the screens, fields and actions most people use every day
AdvancedEverything your role lets you open: more fields, filters, reports and setup. Administrators also get the settings, roles and "All tools" groups here

Change it from the avatar menu or Preferences. A mode only changes what is shown — it never gives you more permission than your role has.

Theme, density and language

Use the moon/sun button for dark or light mode, and Preferences for density and language. Your choices follow you on every device.

Company

If you work for more than one company of your group, the company name in the top bar switches your working company (the default for new records and reports). Switching never moves records and never gives you access to a company you are not allowed to see.

On your phone

Dynamo works in the phone browser and can be installed like an app (see Install Dynamo on your phone or computer). On small screens the bottom bar keeps Home, Apps, Search, Create and Alerts one tap away.
