How it works
What does a ZATCA QR code contain?
Every Saudi tax invoice QR code holds the seller's name, the VAT number, the date and time of the invoice, the total with VAT and the VAT amount. Codes made in the integration phase also hold the invoice hash, the signature and the public key.
How do I check an invoice with its QR code?
Read the code and compare it with the printed invoice: the seller and VAT number must match, the total and VAT must equal the printed amounts, and the VAT should be 15 % of the amount before VAT for standard-rated sales.
Why does my phone show a long text instead of the invoice?
The QR code stores the fields as tag, length and value, encoded in Base64, so a camera shows a block of letters. Paste that block here to read it.

Is the QR code text sent anywhere?
No. It is decoded in your browser. Nothing you paste or the photo you choose leaves your device.
Does this prove the invoice was reported to ZATCA?
No. It shows what the code says. Only ZATCA's own systems confirm that an invoice was cleared or reported.
