Scan
Use Scan in the top bar (or the phone bar). Point the camera at a Dynamo QR code or a barcode. If the camera is not available or you did not allow it, type or paste the code instead.
- A Dynamo QR code opens the record it belongs to — if you are allowed to see it.
- An item barcode opens the item.
Scanning never gives access: a code only points to a record, and Dynamo checks your permissions every time.
Put a QR code on a record
On supported records (for example equipment, quality inspections, projects, tasks, items and files) choose QR code in the form menu to create a code, download it as a vector (SVG) or image (PNG) for labels, or add it to a print format.
- Private codes work only for signed-in people who may open the record.
- Public codes show a verification page with a few facts chosen for that kind of record (for example a report number, date and result) to anyone who scans them — nothing else.
- Give a code an expiry date if it should stop working, and revoke it at any time (for example when a label is lost). Revoked and expired codes show as not valid.
What is in the code
A Dynamo QR code contains only a random reference and your workspace address — never the record data itself. A code from another organization, or a code that was altered, is rejected.
Codes required by law
Codes required by tax rules (for example e-invoicing QR codes) are generated separately by the features that need them and are not Dynamo QR codes.
